Visiting restaurants, bars and cafes is an integral part of the life of any modern person. Here they meet with friends and relatives, celebrate important events, make profitable deals, hide from the weather. In a word, the atmosphere in such establishments is conducive to rest and a pleasant pastime. Advertising in restaurants and cafes is in great demand, because visitors to these establishments are set up in a positive way and are ready to receive information. This sales format is called HoReCa.

What is HoReCa?

Advertising in HoReCa is a type of indoor advertising that involves a variety of accommodation options in leisure complexes. The term HoReCa got its name from the words Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe, which denote places of sale with direct consumption.

The word HoReCa is a generalized designation of the catering and hotel business. This includes the services of restaurants, nightclubs, eateries, canteens, hotels, hostels, hotels, etc.

Placement formats
There are a lot of options for placing ads in HoReCa. Information can be conveyed to customers with the help of discount cards, lightboxes, table signs, racks with printing materials placed at the exit, and all kinds of events – contests, tastings, promotions.

In catering establishments, advertisements are placed on menu pages, in invoices, on furniture and other interior elements. Branding dishes, ashtrays, napkins – in a word, those objects with which the visitor interacts – gives a good effect. Pillars (mobile billboards) can be installed at the entrance to the restaurant, and speakers broadcasting music and audio advertising can be installed on outdoor summer grounds.

In bars and hotel halls, you can notice plasma monitors on which entertainment information is broadcast mixed with commercials. It is also practiced to place ads on the mirrors of elevators, halls and toilets and bathrooms.

In hotels, the greatest concentration of advertising materials falls on reception desks, rooms, elevators and halls.

Advantages of indoor advertising in HoReCa

The main advantage of advertising in HoReCa is that it allows you to promote any product. The only difficulty lies in choosing an institution, since the advertised product should be interesting to the audience that visits this or that place. In other words, if the lobby of an expensive hotel is suitable for advertising a financial consultant, then for promoting instant coffee – ashtrays in a student bar.

The second advantage of such advertising is the duration of interaction with representatives of the target audience. Given that most visitors spend more than 30 minutes in restaurants, bars and cafes, the advertising message is permanently stored in their memory.

Other advantages of indoor advertising in HoReCa include:

  • high efficiency;
  • the possibility of conducting a campaign on a local and global scale;
  • high frequency of repeated contacts;
  • the ability to take into account the specifics of the institution and accurately determine the target audience.

Since all hotels and catering establishments are oriented towards their target audience, the choice of a place for advertising does not cause difficulties. Thus, the client gets the opportunity to address directly to people who may become consumers of his goods or services. So, five–star hotels and expensive restaurants attract wealthy people, and budget cafeterias, canteens and hostels attract schoolchildren, young people and other people with a small income level.
